It was through screening a collection of natural substances that the bioactive molecule screening centre (IRSTV, CEA Grenoble) working with Pierre Fabre laboratories and the IBITEC-S (CEA Saclay) high-throughput screening and combinatorial chemistry research group first discovered the potential of parthenolide as a promising new multifunctional anticancer drug.
