The laboratory is composed of three research groups that are concerned by the engineering of proteins and of natural pseudo-peptides for their use in healthcare and bio-safety: identification, characterization and detection of toxins, anchoring of proteins in cell membranes, set up of new vaccines, enzymatic synthesis of natural and synthetic small molecules.
Three main topics are under investigation:
- study of animal toxins, receptor ligands, and ionic channels
- study of bacterial and plant toxins
- Isolation and characterization of the biosynthetic pathways of natural peptidic molecules
