Le CEA et A*Star, Agence pour la science, technologie et recherche, organisent conjointement un symposium sur la bioimagerie à Singapour.

 CEA-A*STAR Joint Symposium on Bioimaging

Invitation for Participation

20 April 2007, 2pm - 6pm
21 April 2007, 9am – 1pm

The CEA (French Atomic Energy Commission), and the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), through the Singapore Bioimaging Consortium (SBIC), jointly invite you to a symposium on Bioimaging.

The CEA (French Atomic Energy Commission) is a public body established in October 1945. In particular, CEA’s Life Sciences Division aims to apply technology generated by nuclear science to healthcare and biotechnology. The research being conducted aims to develop new tools that will be vital for understanding the structure and operation of complex living systems.

Formed in late 2004, SBIC, being part of A*STAR, aims to serve as a focal point for stimulating, funding, coordinating and reporting on the various aspects of bioimaging activities in Singapore. SBIC also seeks to create a platform for multidisciplinary research for biologists, chemists, physicists, electrical/electronics engineers, computer scientists as well as clinicians to work together on strategic bioimaging projects.

By bringing together scientists working in the area of bioimaging, it is hoped that this joint symposium will help promote interaction between the French and Singapore researchers, thereby leading to future research collaborations
The speakers and topics for the symposium are as follows:

From CEA
(1) A Syrota: Imaging infrastructures of the Life Science Division of the CEA
(2) F. Dollé: Fluorine-18: a royal gateway to success in diagnostic and molecular imaging with Positron Emission Tomography
(3) D Le Bihan: Water and brain activation imaging
(4) JF Mangin: Artificial intelligence and machine learning for early diagnosis of brain diseases
(5) P Hantraye: PET and MR translational methods to assess gene transfer therapeutic
strategies for CNS applications
(6) B Tavitian: Novel targeted imaging probes for early in vivo diagnosis and/or evaluation of response to therapy
From Singapore
(1) Sir George Radda: Introduction to the Singapore Bioimaging Consortium
(2) Xavier Golay: Quantitative measurement of brain perfusion
(3) Lim Joo Hwee: Medical Image Indexing and Retrieval - an ImageCLEF experience
(4) Malini Olivo: In-vivo cellular imaging and optical molecular imaging
(5) Wieslaw Nowinski: Atlas-enhanced clinical neuroinformatics
(6) Stephen Ogg: Shedding light on skin disorders: using optical imaging techniques to study epithelial fragility diseases
The symposium will be opened by Prof Andre Syrota (Director, Life Sciences Division, CEA) and Prof Sir George Radda (Chairman, SBIC) and will include tea breaks between the sessions.

Attendance at the event is by registration only. Please registervia email to [email of CEA admin person in charge]/ rosabelle_chua@sbic.a-star.edu.sg with the following information:
