The Institute of Life Sciences Research and Technologies (iRTSV) is both a department of the CEA and a Federative Research Institute (IFR 27) that coordinates research programmes led by several joint units directed by the CEA, the Joseph Fourier University and a number of other research bodies such as the CNRS, Inserm and INRA.
In addition, the iRTSV boasts a broad range of experimental strategies in the cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, chemistry and physics domains through which it effectively combines fundamental research with biotech developments.
Lastly, the deployment of open technological platforms strengthens the multi-disciplinary role of the iRTSV, a key actor in the Rhône-Alpes Genopole, the Lyon-Grenoble Cancer Research Cluster and the NanoBio Programme.
