The C-INAPS is a joint unit run by the CNRS, the CEA and the Basse-Normandie and Paris V universities. It is involved in research at the Cyceron Neuroscience and Molecular Imaging centre, deploying CEA resources for the unit in development projects on in vivo functional exploration and the neuronal bases of cognitive function.

The role of the C-INAPS is to use technologies applied in anatomic magnetic and functional resonance neuroimaging (aMRI and fMRI) together with electromagnetic mapping (EEG and MEG), via:

the Neurofunctional Imaging of Language Laboratory (LINLANG), which is tasked with studying variability in the cognitive architecture of language and it’s hemisphere specificity,

the Neurofunctional Imaging of Mentation Laboratory (LINDECO), which is tasked with studying the neuronal bases of resting consciousness in healthy volunteers and patients with psychiatric disorders.

These teams are backed up by the

the PET Technology Development Laboratory (LDMTEP), which works in neurotransmission and oncology research and is tasked with:

  • developing and labelling PET-detectable radiotracers and assessing them in vivo models,
  • developing and finalizing procedures for producing radiopharmaceuticals dedicated to clinical research into the central nervous system, and with studying the novel radiotracers developed in vivo models.
