SPI-Bio is a Drug Development Services Company founded in 1991 by the CEA.
SPI-Bio along with its 3 sister companies (Biotec Centre, Ellipse Pharmaceuticals & IDPS) form the pharmaceutical branch of Bertin Technologies. This group cluster is to be defined as the « all-in-one » company for the drug development.
Besides the antiviral pharmacology and biosafety, SPI-Bio carries out preclinical (cellular & animal models) and clinical studies for Pharma and Biotech to evaluate the efficacy and the harmlessness of new immune therapies i.e. adjuvants, vaccines, therapeutic proteins, etc.
Alongside them, the sister companies also offer their expertise from biochemical characterization to the assessment of immunological parameters in patients or participants in clinical trials through the immunogenicity and toxicology (GLP in part).
SPI-Bio and the CEA’s Division of Immuno-Virology are collaborating for the realization of several of these activities.
