About the Immuno-Virology Division (SIV)

The Immuno-Virology Division (SIV) is part of the Institute of Emerging Diseases and Innovative Therapies (iMETI) of the Life Sciences Division of the French Atomic Energy Commission (CEA).

Research programs within the Immuno-Virology Division focus on the study of viral/host interactions in an effort to develop new preventive strategies against human viral infections. HIV/AIDS have been for the past 15 years our main topic of interest.

More recently, we have also extended our studies to other human viral infections for which the development or the improvement of prophylactic vaccines remain of major significance for public health (e.g. Chikungunya, Influenza and Yellow fever viruses).

Our expertise is mainly based on the use of animal models of human viral infections, in particular non human primates (NHP).
